I know i said this was supposed to be monthly…
It turns out I’m really bad at writing newsletters AND writing books at the same time. So it’s been a while! So much has changed since my last newsletter; I wrote the first draft of Book 2 (author friends–what is the hardest book you’ve ever written, and why is it your first book under contract?), launched A DEADLY ENDEAVOR into the world, received my edit letter for Book 2, and rewrote it entirely in a little under six weeks. All while finishing up the school year, parenting a now 6(!)-year-old, prepping for a move, and trying to exist as a human. It’s been…a lot. But also AMAZING! Because Edie and Gil are out in the world, and people have been so, so kind and enthusiastic about this bonkers book I dreamed up one summer afternoon at the playground in Manayunk.
But! It’s summer, my revisions for Book 2 were sent off to my editor earlier today, and I thought I’d pop into your inbox to say hi, and share a few upcoming events that you might be interested in. I’m still pinching myself that so many of you came out to celebrate A DEADLY ENDEAVOR at my tour stops in Northern Virginia and Philadelphia. I’m continuing the party this summer and fall. I’ll be signing books at Bethany Beach Books (one of my favorite stores!) this July, celebrating the re-opening of the Barnes & Noble in Georgetown in August, and talking about 1920s murder mysteries at the Fall for the Book Festival in Fairfax, VA this October. Maybe I’ll see you there?
Upcoming Events
July 28: Bethany Beach Books with Nicole Wolverton
August 25: Barnes & Noble Georgetown Grand Opening
October 12: Fall for the Book Festival
That’s all for now. I’m sure I’ll be back soon with some exciting Book 2 news soon! Til next time, my lovelies.
